Place des Vosges

Place des Vosges, a tale of sparrows :

« All of the sparrows on Place des Vosges are the accomplices of the perfume creator Christian Louis,
who is at number 18 Place des Vosges. A flock of sparrows noisily hawk his olfactory creations in the
gardens of the Hôtel de Sully, they quarrel on the ivy-covered walls of the Pavillon de la Reine, and
squabble on the balconies of the Maison de Victor Hugo…

These little winged devils come to « pinch » breadcrumbs at the Victor Hugo brasserie, or at the
terraces of the Carette or Ma Bourgogne restaurants. For a gossip meeting, these terrible sparrows
have decided to force the door of the tea merchants, la Maison Dammann…

The flocks of mischievous and impertinent sparrows constantly redesign the ghost of the writer
Victor Hugo…

La Place des Vosges, formerly called Place Royale (a meeting point in history, literature and art, and
of which the boutique is the beating, living and intoxicating heart) has become a vast courtyard to
discover the perfumes of Christian Louis. I assure you, all this armada of unruly sparrows of Place des
Vosges are well and truly the accomplices of the creator of perfumes!!!… »
